That’s what summer guests were saying as we finished off an excellent meal at the House of Punjab. Four of us agreed the restaurant was a good choice for dinner. Manager of the restaurant is Jagdish Singh, and the staff is made up of chefs and servers of Indian background. The restaurant has established itself as an interesting place to go. At the Grand Forks restaurant, they have closed off the kitchen and changed the seating arrangement. Some of them settled first in New York City where they were engaged mainly in driving taxis.

We settled into a booth early in the evening – around 5 p.m. We ordered garlic naan bread topped with fresh garlic and cilantro. Also spring rolls filled with stir fried vegetables.

They have moved west and found opportunities in restaurants. The restaurant serves breads, sides and desserts. And the desserts range from Gulab Jamun – a homemade cake ball dipped in sweet syrup called one of India’s most popular sweets. Fried pockets of dough stuffed with seasoned potatoes and peas.

One of the main entrees is roasted and marinated chicken in special curry sauce with bell peppers and onions. Breads are baked in the tandoori oven in 13 different versions including tandoori roti wheat flour bread. With friends, I tasted a few dishes from the menu that includes Punjab entrees served with rice. And rice is served with chicken, veggies, lamb, shrimp and goat. There are appetizers including Gull Gape – a bite-sized deep fried hollow ball filled with potatoes, chickpeas, onion, cilantro and flavored water. Roasted marinated chicken in a spiced curry sauce with bell peppers and onions.

We tried chicken tikka masala, lamb saag and eggplant. Along with the appetizers and main entrees, there are kabobs including lamb, chicken tikka and chicken. A rich wine with ripe flavors of fresh citrus, apple, and pear with notes of creamy butter, followed by hints of vanilla and toasted oak. A royal and rich dish made with your choice of meat or paneer cooked in a creamy spicy sauce with a hint of sweetness, garnished with cashews and raisins.

American Restaurant

hash house a gogo

Discover culinary excellence at Hash House A Go Go's Plaza location, where inventive comfort cuisine meets downtown's vibrant flavors. Join us to experience a unique dining journey, embracing inventive dishes and a welcoming atmosphere. In December 2020, when a lot of people were still staying out of restaurants as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hash House A Go Go decided to try out the food truck restaurant model in Las Vegas. Its food truck was called Hash House 2 Go Go, and it had a much narrower menu offering than the full-fledged restaurant. There have been so few Hash House A Go Go locations added over the years that it's a big deal when new ones open or old ones close. The numbers balanced again in 2023 with one opening in Florida while another closed in New Jersey.

Locations

Winter Garden, Florida got its first Hash House a Go Go in May of 2023. Being only about three miles from Disney World, it's the perfect location for the restaurant. The building is 7,500 square feet, which can accommodate a lot of guests even with a Farmall M 3-plow crop tractor sitting in the middle of its lobby. The environmental focus at Hash House has been a part of operations since the beginning. So, if you happen to get a big sprig of herbs like rosemary or mint in your food or drink, Hash House encourages you to take it home and reuse it to season your homemade meals or drinks.

ANDY’S SAGE FRIED CHICKEN & EGGS

No matter what you order, you're going to say, "Wow" when your food arrives. Our unique twisted farm food and Midwest-inspired dishes with a modern twist. Enjoy twisted farm food and crafted cocktails at the world famous Hash House A Go Go. For example, Andy's World Famous Fried Chicken Waffle Tower comes stacked sky-high with two pieces of fried chicken and a big knife stuck in the top.

ROASTED CHICKEN, GARLIC, ONIONS,

The last time Hash House 2 Go Go updated its social media accounts was in 2021. When we tried calling the phone number for the food truck, we got shunted into an on-hold message that eventually hung up on us. Step into a world of culinary creativity where classic comfort meets a modern twist. Indulge in our signature tractor-sized pancakes, twisted farm favorites, and one-of-a-kind Sage Fried Chicken Benedict, all amidst the vibrant energy of The LINQ. Join us to experience a culinary journey that redefines traditional dining and captures the essence of Las Vegas's vibrant food scene.

In The Community

If you were to ask what kind of food Hash House A Go Go serves, the answer is "twisted farm food." What exactly does that mean? Well, imagine what you'd normally eat in a traditional Midwestern farmhouse kitchen and then add a modern, over-the-top twist to it. However, there's nothing ordinary about the dishes that will come to your table at this restaurant.

San Diego Featured Specials

When it started out, you could get a spicy chicken sandwich, grilled chicken, homemade biscuits, fried chicken fingers, sauces, seasoned waffle fries, coleslaw, and chicken finger sandwiches on Hawaiian sweet buns. The prices were great, with full meals starting between $7.50 for "The Twisted Sandy" sandwich meal and $8.50 for "The Twisted Finger" chicken finger meal. However, the offerings weren't over the top like the food you would get at the full restaurant.

Featured Menu Items

Crisp bacon is cooked into the four waffles, and there's a deconstructed salad draped over and around the whole creation. The Hand Hammered Crispy Pork Tenderloin Sandwich comes with a ridiculous fried pork tenderloin that's probably five times as big as the bun it's on, staked together with a huge knife and a large sprig of rosemary on top you can take home to reuse. Hash House A Go Go promises "portions just like your mama would serve you," which means more than you can likely eat. Myfitnesspal says that the meatloaf is 1,850 calories, so we don't even want to think about how many calories are in that ginormous stack of chicken and waffles. Despite being a Midwestern-inspired restaurant, there aren't any Hash House A Go Go locations in the Midwest yet. It represents our commitment to providing a unique dining experience with a playful twist on traditional dishes.

SUNDRIED TOMATO AND FRESH SPINACH

Discover generous portions and inventive comfort food at Hash House A Go Go's new Flamingo Crossings Town Center location in Winter Garden, where their famous towering Farm Benedicts, Sage Fried Chicken Hash, pancakes and more await. Unfortunately, one in Moorestown, New Jersey, closed at the end of 2023, leaving customers sad to see it go. Customers were especially disappointed after the restaurant decided not to renew its liquor license when it finally reopened after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2022.

FRESH SPINACH AND MOZZARELLA

You can also get a non-alcoholic Kiwi Watermelon Lemonade which has layers of green, white, and red like a watermelon and comes with a slice of the fruit. When Hash House A Go Go started as a brunch restaurant in 2000, brunch wasn't as big as it is now. Chefs like Anthony Bourdain hated making brunch because they thought it was a "horrible, cynical way of unloading leftovers and charging three times as much as you ordinarily charge for breakfast" (via The Oregonian). However, owner Johnny Rivera had a different vision for what brunch could become. He wanted it to be a meal in itself, telling San Diego Magazine that "[b]runch was recovery from the night before, and it was a sense of redemption the next day, where you could revitalize yourself."

It manages to combine a B.L.T. sandwich and a spicy Bloody Mary drink all in one by sticking bacon, lettuce, and tomato in the drink with a side of toast and mayo. If you need something to satisfy your sweet tooth, the dessert menu is ready to please. There's usually only one dessert on the menu at a time, but you can trust that it's good.

Beardslee first learned to cook in a Midwestern kitchen with his mom and grandma before perfecting his craft on the East Coast at Boston's Cambridge Culinary School. Meanwhile, Rivera's culinary influences are from American and European cuisine, and he was actually a musician before he went into the restaurant business. Thus, the restaurant describes its cuisine type as "the Midwest Meets the Coasts." While the best way to understand Hash House A Go Go is to experience it, we've tried to capture its essence by writing about it for you.

One option you're likely to find is the Churro Waffle, which is a cinnamon-dusted vanilla waffle that comes with ice cream and caramel sauce. Another item that shows up on the menu often is the wow-worthy Snicker's Bread Pudding, which comes topped with ice cream, caramel, and chocolate sauce. The bread pudding is good enough that Martha Stewart has even talked up. Luckily, you can find a recipe for the bread pudding online when it's temporarily off the menu in your location. When the menu in a restaurant that serves gigantic entrées tells you that the desserts are "big enough to share," you take it seriously. Even though the portions at Hash House A Go Go are huge, somehow, there's almost always room for dessert.

It's rare to find a chain restaurant that has tens of thousands of 5-star ratings all over the U.S. Yet, Hash House A Go Go has been wowing customers and making them happy for over two decades. If you haven't heard of this chain before, it's probably because there are only a few open around the country. However, if you ever come across one, don't hesitate to stop in for brunch or dinner.

However, if you don't leave any room, you can always make a special trip back to the restaurant just to experience the desserts. Our most popular meal, this chicken is rolled in flour, fresh sage, and spices, then fried to a glorious crisp. Hash House A Go Go has been around long enough to attract the attention of several food celebrities and food TV shows. When people whose whole lives revolve around food love it, you know it's something special. If you order a Big O' Turkey Pot Pie during the Thanksgiving season, it comes turned on its side with the pie filling poured out on the plate like a cornucopia. Hash House A Go Go was founded by Andy Beardslee and Johnny Rivera all the way back in 2000.

Former customers on Facebook mentioned that a lot of the stores in the mall where it had been located had been closing down recently and that they would often visit to find it fairly empty at lunch. Hash House A Go Go has hosted events for health causes like prostate and breast cancer, AIDS, and MS, as well as events to help children such as Stop Hunger for Children and Young Inner City Entrepreneur Programs. Its community events reach beyond people to helping programs like the Wildlife Fund. During National Pancake Day in 2023, it celebrated for an entire week and donated a dollar from every specialty pancake in one location to an organization that helps families who have a family member with epilepsy. The most well-known alcoholic beverage at Hash House A Go Go is Johnny's Famous B.L.T. Mary.

There were some sanitary issues related to handwashing and not washing fruits and vegetables. Plus, the restaurant was keeping meat out at temperatures that were too warm. Since cockroaches can be tenacious, the restaurant had to call in some professionals to help get rid of the infestation and close up places where other vermin could get into the building. While it doesn't have Michelin stars (it's not really that type of restaurant), Hash House A Go Go has won over 60 separate restaurant awards (some of them multiple times).

If you were to ask what kind of food Hash House A Go Go serves, the answer is "twisted farm food." What exactly does that mean? The restaurant also only gives you water if you ask for it to avoid being wasteful (not uncommon in California during water shortages). It's also farm-conscious and strives to use non-GMO foods in its meals. When Hash House A Go Go first opened in 2000, it didn't have a liquor license, so it focused on creating spectacular non-alcoholic beverages. Once it got its liquor license, it opened up the Tractor Bar, so it could offer over-the-top alcoholic beverages as well.

Once you read the descriptions of some of the menu items and see what they look like, you'll have a better idea of why we think you need to know about this chain. If you haven't heard of Hash House A Go Go yet, you're missing out on a spectacular place to get breakfast. It's the quintessential American brunch restaurant, featuring jaw-droppingly outrageous dishes you'll feel compelled to post on social media. Not only are the dishes visually stunning, but they'll make your mouth happy, too. We believe in using the best of ingredients, sticking to our culinary values, staying true to great service, always appreciating our customers, and never forgetting to keep it a good o’ time. The restaurant received 25 demerits and closed down temporarily since cockroaches weren't the only problems the inspectors cited that day.

However, if you don't leave any room, you can always make a special trip back to the restaurant just to experience the desserts. For those looking to blend jungle explorations with a touch of luxury, there’s no better place to stay than Southern Darke Lodge. Located in Drake Bay—accessible from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) via a one-hour flight, drive or thrilling riverboat ride—the property is off the beaten path while still being relatively accessible. The Gatehouse Cabin is set apart from the lodge’s main building, allowing guests to enjoy tranquility and privacy while still being able to access the property’s six lush acres and amenities. The cabin has a kitchen, but breakfast is also served on the lodge’s covered “ranch” platform. By day, tour nearby highlights like Corcovado National Park or take a boat trip to snorkel sites around Cano Island. After your adventures in the humidity, you’ll appreciate the air conditioning, outdoor shower and pool.

Dine at the peninsula's top restaurants, work on your serve at the tennis center or splurge on a resort pass to the Four Seasons or Andaz to enjoy access to even more beaches and pools. The condo itself feels like an extension of the area’s five-star resorts—the interiors are clean, bright and spacious, with high ceilings, warm wood accents and modern appliances. Each of the three bedrooms has its own ensuite bathroom and terrace, making it easy to soak in those Pacific Ocean and jungle views. Two golf carts are available to rent for the duration of your stay, which is recommended for zipping around the peninsula like a true resident. Ranging from white and gold to chocolate-colored sands, you can find it all in the peaceful paradise of Costa Rica.

Snorkel and swim in the quiet turquoise waters at Playa Conchal beach, or visit the calm waters and pristine coastline at Manuel Antonio beach. Possibly the country's most developed beach town, this area is a local favorite not only for relaxation but also for nightlife, and our vacation villa rentals place you close to all. Heralded as one of the most biodiverse places on the planet, the Osa Peninsula is a dream destination for most wildlife enthusiasts.

Located in the heart of the laid-back beach town of Santa Teresa, Villa Melody is perfect for groups of couples who want to travel together but still enjoy some privacy. Each of the four bedrooms comes with its own bathroom, air conditioning, ultra-comfortable king-size bed and window with jungle views. The common area is inviting, with its soaring post-and-beam-style ceilings, spacious living room, fully equipped kitchen and a large dining table. The star attraction, however, is the villa’s massive outdoor space, where groups can swim in the pool and relax on sun beds or in a pillowed lounge area.

If you wish to try your hand at surfing, Tamarindo Beach is the best one for beginners. The beach is also known for its buzzing nightlife and the surrounding Las Baulas National Park, making it a much-loved spot among active travelers. Our local Costa Rica team includes professional housekeepers who care for all our homes here. They’ll clean thoroughly and restock amenities, so everything is ready for your arrival—and all you have to do is settle in and relax.

Nearby, the Finca Bellavista Community Base Camp offers complimentary yoga classes, a dining hall with farm-to-table meals and a “rancho” with a nightly happy hour, where you can meet other guests. You can also book excursions here, from zip-lining and e-biking adventures to guided tours of Corcovado National Park. If you’re craving a treetop escape with all the comforts of a regular home, look no further than this elevated abode conveniently located between the beaches of Tamarindo and Playa Flamingo. This modern treehouse offers a panoramic deck equipped with a hammock, grill and plunge pool that’s ideal for cooling off in the heat or stargazing at night.

Dominical Beach, located on the South Pacific Coast, is another favored spot with surfing enthusiasts. When not riding the waves, take a stroll on the tranquil beach with its lush greenery. Plus, there are several great bars and restaurants to keep you fuelled on your adventures.

Once you get here, it’s a good idea to rent an ATV, as not all of the roads are pedestrian-friendly and you’ll likely want to explore other nearby beaches and waterfalls. With its lush gardens, pool and direct access to a picturesque beach, this family-friendly Airbnb near Tamarindo is ideal for a serene getaway. The property is located within the gated community of Hacienda Pinilla, just steps from a white-sand beach fringed by native trees. The home is sparkling clean, spacious and full of indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and socialize, including a pool and garden that’s regularly frequented by monkeys and macaws. When you need a change of scenery, head to Lola’s, a beachfront restaurant where you can grab lunch, watch surfers and catch epic sunsets. For more resort amenities, there’s a beach club with another pool, playground, restaurant, bar, gym and spa just a 10-minute walk away.

The host lives next door and is available if you need any local recommendations, surfboards or help arranging excursions. One of the best add-ons is booking a private chef to come by the property to cook the catch of the day (or other local specialties) to enjoy on your private outdoor deck. If your dream vacation includes relaxing by infinity pools, sipping craft cocktails on pristine beaches or teeing off at an Arnold Palmer golf course, you’ll be in paradise at Villa Mila.

Have a classy night out at the impressive National Theater, a 19th-century building that houses a range of performance art in its concert hall. If you love art, visit the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design, which is located in the country’s capital and displays a marvelous array of the nation’s artworks. Travelers can also visit the Center of Science and Culture, a building in San José that houses a range of Costa Rica’s cultural, scientific and artistic artifacts. Choose to stay at a Costa Rica vacation rental so that you have a cozy place to come back to after a day immersed in the region’s art and culture. This beautiful land is situated between Nicaragua and Panama on the promontory that connects North America with South America.

Timberwood Tap House, Charlottesville Menu, Reviews 305, Photos 90

When it’s warm,  take advantage of outdoor picnic tables spread across the astroturf lawn. They also have a smaller tasting room in Culver City right next to the metro. Originally from Georgia, Creature Comforts is a Downtown brewery in the same complex as Rossoblu and Dama. The industrial space has a large interior with plenty of TVs, plus a giant wrap-around front patio ideal for getting a little red on a Saturday afternoon. They’ve got around 12 different beers on tap ranging from Belgian-style pilsners to a sour ale, but we tend to go for the Bigger Dreams, a hazy IPA with heavy notes of tangerine and grapefruit. If you’re looking for a quick drink before dinner, Creature Comforts is a great low-key option.

Eater LA main menu

Hold up, there’s a British-style brewery in Van Nuys? The beers here are brewed and poured in cask, which means robust flavors and little-to-no carbonation (it's a little odd to get used to, but quite tasty). For food options, expect a rotating cast of food trucks.

Beer Menus

We serve our full dinner menu every day from 4pm until 10pm. We serve select appetizers and desserts from 10pm until close. The atmosphere was very nice and clean! The service was great and the food was exceptional! The ribs were delightful with a flavorful sauce and the fish tacos were filling and delicious.

Take-Out/Delivery Options

Progress Brewing is a big deal for El Monte, the bedroom community east of Downtown Los Angeles. Crisp classics and unique newcomers (try the Sandia Loca, a blonde ale with watermelon and chamoy) play nicely here. Though many know Montebello’s shipping container food hall for the food, there’s a handy tasting room tucked away in the back. It’s always a pro move to place an order — especially the fairly new Chicano eatery SolRad — and order Honest Abe’s Mexican lollipop brew with watermelon and spice. The sweeping architectural lines of this historic building help to tell a tale about adaptive reuse in Los Angeles. But the beers do their own talking, winning IPA awards and other accolades.

Great server!

Passing through and happened upon the sign on 64 and SO GLAD we stopped. The Eastern Shore Grilled Cheese is not to be missed! Will have to return for brews next time.

In nine years, guess how many frozen bags of soup we’ve opened? A grand total of zero, as we make all of our soups from scratch. Every day, we patty our burgers by hand and cut lettuce for salads instead of using frozen patties and pre-mixed industrial sized bags of salad mix. All this is what we’d do at home, for our families, so why would it make any sense to do it differently for our Timberwood family?

Paperback Brewing has very good beer, especially if you’re a hazy IPA connoisseur, but the biggest reason we love this Glendale brewery is its space. Located in an old 1940s-era airplane hangar, drinking at Paperback feels like you’re in line for Soarin’ Around The World at California Adventure, except the only ride here is sitting and relaxing for a few hours. Even during peak weekend hours, you’ll always be able to find an open table, and when you get hungry, you’ll find a food truck or two parked out front. LA's massive craft beer wave of the 2010s has long subsided, but there are still plenty of great places to drink a local pint.

At Solarc, that means beer flavored with things like wormwood, black tea, and turmeric, and fermented with wild yeasts collected around Los Angeles. With dozens of taps and a lot of hard-to-source beer, Glendale Tap has emerged as one of the city’s best beer bars over the past decade. The semi-hidden corner location also now welcomes a variety of food pop-ups. This unfussy brewery focuses on the brews, with high ceilings and giant fermentation barrels.

Here now are 19 places to enjoy excellent craft beer in Los Angeles right now. One of the smallest breweries on this guide, Frogtown feels a bit like you’re hanging out in your friend’s garage, except there’s an industrial brewing set-up instead of an unused homebrew kit. The Lites Out pilsner is ideal if you’re there in the daytime (it’s only 4.1% ABV), but there's also a good selection of hazy and milkshake IPAs if you want to kick things up a bit in the evening. There's usually a food truck on-site most evenings, but you can also bring in food—on weekend afternoons our move is to walk over to Wax Paper right up the block for a post-pilsner sandwich.

As impressive as the space is, the beer is even better. Don’t miss the top-selling Dog Ate My Homework—a purplish, juicy blackberry saison—or Popfuji, a malty, refreshing unfiltered pilsner. If you think you took a wrong turn and ended up in a warehouse yard, you’re at the right place. Boomtown Brewing is the most fun thing happening on this extra-industrial block of the Arts District, and somewhere you can fit a lot of people on a weekend afternoon. Between an alleyway and two giant warehouses, there’s plenty of seating.

Indian food in Louisville: Tikka House has bright spots of flavor

The spices coating the cubes of tenderloin gave off a raw note and begged for moisture. A small spice shop in the middle of the River Market, Tikka House has some of the best Indian food I've had in a while. It was just spicy enough, with a cooling dressing and delicious, perfectly cook rice. A definite winner. While you wait foe your food, don't forget to check out the amazing array for spice blends. Tikka House Indian Restaurant welcomes you to taste the best Indian cuisine menu in the Louisville.

The tables are draped in white cloths and set against a backdrop of black wallpaper decorated with cream curlicue brushstrokes. A buffet sits at the back edge of the main dining room, and its round, hammered copper chafing dishes are gleaming for those dining in at lunchtime. Our Halal restaurant is known for its modern interpretation of classic dishes and its insistence on only using high quality fresh ingredients. Excellent selection of vegetarian, non-vegetarian and vegan items. We took our server’s suggestion for dessert and were treated to zulbia, an off menu sweet crafted with deep fried strands of Indian maida flour.

Less satisfying was the shrimp mango curry ($11.99). Unfortunately, both were lacking the crunch I generally expect when something is batter-fried. Perhaps the application of each sauce, while rich in flavor, resulted in a softened texture. There is a gentle nature to the service at Tikka House. The staff speak in calm, quiet tones, and an easy smile seems to be part of the uniform. We began a recent dinner visit with a trio of starters, the favorite of which was the mushroom fry ($7.99).

The strings of fried maida are formed into pretzel like shapes and then coated in a sweetened syrup. They are a little chewy and not overly sweet, allowing for a light end to a meal. We cordially invite you to taste the world's most delectable Mediterranean cuisine. At our restaurant, you can experience the true delight of eating with the delectability of Mediterranean cuisine. Mediterranean cuisine is a well-known stress reliever and a must-try meal around the world. Fresh garden salad topped with pieces of chicken tikka.

This talent is well exemplified in the vegetable mappas dish ($9.99). A curry infused base of coconut milk provides a warm home for sliced beans and carrots. My only wish was that the assortment of vegetables was more abundant. I find it nearly impossible to pass up an order of daal makhani ($9.99) when presented with the opportunity, and Tikka House’s preparation did not disappoint. There is a richness to this compilation of black lentils and red kidney beans that comes courtesy of a generous addition of butter and cream. A triangle of warm, garlic studded naan bread ($2.99) is the ideal vehicle for enjoying this specialty.

In fact, the restaurant recently moved into a bigger location around the corner on Main Street. With better on-street parking options, a lot more seating and the Buffalo Medical Campus just across the street, the small move could have a big impact. High quality fresh ingredients, excellent service and friendly staff. Reach freelance restaurant critic Lindsey McClave at -girl.com.

Add the tomatoes and ¾ cup water, scraping up the browned bits, then stir in the mushrooms and ¾ teaspoon salt. The puree then is cooked with an aromatic mixture of onion, garlic, ginger, garam masala and paprika until it begins to brown, concentrating the flavors. Canned tomatoes and water are added to release any browned bits and ensure no flavor is left behind on the pan. Cremini mushrooms are simmered until tender and the sauce is creamy. Buffalo Tikka House serve a wide range of exotic Bangladeshi and Indian dishes. Formerly the longtime home to Majid’s, I’m glad Tikka House has given this quaint space in St. Matthews’ Chenoweth Square a new life. While the lengthy menu can be intimidating, the opportunity the lunch buffet provides for sampling numerous items coming out of the Tikka House kitchen is worthwhile. Overall, the culinary team at Tikka House seems to know their way around a sauce.
